EDIT !!!!! PICS AT BOTTOM OF FIRST PAGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

well i spoke to pro function just now ,
i was informed that
1> theres NO CHANCE it was a brand new clutch that was put in friday before i left .,and i quote " unless you LITERALLY BEAT THE HELL out of it , then thres no way this is a brand new clutch "
2> ALL of my cotter pins on my suspention have been removed ,and not replaced
not a huge deal , until i back a nut off a bolt at 80 mph and total my car and die

In my opinion , and TELL ME if you agree ,or not , if you bring your car to a shop , with some parts on it ( EX. the cotter pins thhat are annoying to keep taking on or off )
then that car SHOULD have those parts on it when it comes out of the shop ? am i correct about that ?
Or should a shop remove stuff and for their convience not put it back on ??

I will have pics tomorrow morning of the disaster , along with another update .

Thanks to all of you who offered help , Did help , or just plain felt bad for me ,
I know in the situation with MY car there really wasnt much ANYONE could do

So thanks ,. and ill keep updating ,

If you were driving with me from NYC-chicago , can you please type up a post on HOW i was driving , Easy , hard , whatever you wittnessed , because this might go to court .
Thanks everyone

OK FULL STORY
1.i have a turbo R , so i have a twin disk clutch , it blew at a stop sign , a week before expo
So i called "SHOP" and told them i needed a huge favor and to get a clutch in before friday so i can go to expo , being that last year it was my turbo that blew up a day befoe expo 8
they did the work , " NEW " twin disk , competition clutch
i drove ablut 200 miles on friday in traffic to break in , then left saturday morning for expo ,
5th grear for 600 miles , and we pull into a rest stop for gas ,
I pulled next to AW and said " oh your getting food first , ? ill go get gas and cool heR down put her in Reverse , coming off the clutch , GOD AWFUL NOISE , same as last week ,
Triedfirst gear , same

Towed the car the last 50 miles to the track

BTW , the original twin in there , had about tje same mileage , just over a month , not a day
Then i went thru HELL getting everything set up to get a shop , a ride home from chicago , a rental car , a tow truck (x2) , ill need another tow truck to tow the rental back to illonois , AND to tow my caR back home from there

If theres anything i missed any of you can fill in the blanks after that .

Hows that sound for BULLCHIT??

dfoxengr: if you dont know the story , then YOU NEED TO GO TO EXPO
I dont know if we met ? were you there ?

Cotter pin removal = put it back into place. Either new, or using the old ones depending on condition.

It is too bad you will never see a dime for what you paid those tools to put that clutch in.

sorry to hear jared. did you buy the clutch yourself and give it to them to install? or did they supposedly get the new clutch and install it for you?

and to think I ALMOST took my car to that shop...

I never reuse cotter pins unless it's a side of the road repair. The fact that they left them out speaks volumes about the quality of their work.

Jared I feel your pain, I'm about fed up with shitty mech. work.
Even if you beat hell out of the clutch, (and it sounds like you matched the equipment to the app.) it should last a lot longer than it did.
Was the orig. twin disc the same brand and did the same shop install it?

Jared, I had the same thing when I got my car back.

Here is my list...
- no cotter pins anywhere even though they were there before I dropped it off, I put new ones in myself
- alignment was messed up after tie rod change and supposedely alignment was done
- oil pan missing every other bolt/nut
- oil pan leaking
- turbo bung on N/A oil pan
- missing thermostat on a street car build
- leaking coolant due to missing thermostat and gasket
- burning oil....
- here is the topper, driver door misaligned!!! did not close without lifting door! how the hell does that happen. This was fixed after two tries and still was not perfect. Reason for issue, it was claimed that they scratched the door and the body shop had to buff it out....

The list goes on,

YEah I talked to you a couple of times, and that's a fugged up situation to be in. I hope you get it all taken care of relatively painlessly. Seriously it sucks that you can't take in your car and trust a shop to do it right. Not only that but have things missing from your car. Good luck man I can't wait to see it kicking ass at Expo X.
